About Sudoku

Sudoku is the classic number logic puzzle, here in a clean and distraction-free version. Every game deals a fresh 9×9 board with 30 given digits, and your job is to fill the remaining 51 cells so that each row, each column and each 3×3 box contains the numbers 1 to 9 exactly once.

Tap a cell to open the number pad and pick a digit. The board highlights the row, column and box of the selected cell and shows matching numbers in blue, while a digit that clashes with another one turns red straight away. Pencil mode lets you jot up to four candidate numbers in a cell before you commit, and a counter tracks filled cells and elapsed seconds.

It is a relaxing way to train your logic for a few minutes, whether you are new to Sudoku or solve one every morning.

How to play

Select an empty cell and choose a number from the pad that appears. Each row, column and 3×3 box must contain the digits 1 to 9 with no repeats; conflicting numbers are shown in red. Fill all 81 cells without conflicts to complete the puzzle.

Tips

• Start with rows, columns or boxes that already have many digits: the missing ones are easier to find.
• Watch the blue highlights after selecting a cell to see where a number already appears.
• Use pencil mode to note two or three candidates in tricky cells instead of guessing.
• A red cell means the number clashes with another one in its row, column or box, so fix it before moving on.
