Lock Picking
Crack a five-digit lock by clicking at the exact moment the spinning pick lines up with each glowing pin, a free minimalist timing game for your browser.
About Lock Picking
Lock Picking is a minimalist reflex game built around one clean idea: a green pick spins around the dial and a glowing pin waits somewhere on the ring. Click or tap the dial just as the pick passes over the pin to set that digit and move on to the next one.
Every successful pick flips the direction of the spin and places a new pin at a random spot, so you can never settle into a rhythm. You need to land five picks in a row to open the lock, and a single mistimed click sends you back to the start.
The calm dark design and quiet animations make it a relaxing way to test your timing, while the one-mistake rule keeps every attempt tense right up to the final digit.
How to play
Watch the green pick travel around the circle and click or tap the circle when it overlaps the glowing pin. Each hit counts down one digit and spins the pick the other way toward a new pin. Hit all five digits to win; clicking when the pick is away from the pin ends the attempt.
Controls
- Click / Tap
- Pick the pin when the pointer lines up
- Click Play Again
- Start a new lock after a win or a miss
Tips
- Click slightly before the pick reaches the pin, since it keeps moving while your finger comes down.
- After each hit the spin reverses, so find the new pin before you start timing.
- Do not hesitate too long: the pick stops spinning about 15 seconds after each click, and a stopped pick away from the pin cannot be saved.
- Tap anywhere inside the circle: the whole dial works as the button.
